You lie down, someone plays bowls and gongs, and you listen. A plain-language guide for the curious.
This is a DEMO editorial example written to show the Journal format.
What to expect
A sound bath is usually 45 to 90 minutes. You lie on a mat with a blanket while a facilitator plays singing bowls, gongs or chimes. You do not need to do anything except listen.
Why people try it
Some people find it easier to rest their attention on sound than on silence, which makes it a gentle entry point if sitting meditation feels hard. Research on sound baths is still early, so we label these listings with an emerging or experiential evidence level.
How to choose
Look for small groups, a facilitator who explains the session beforehand, and ask about volume if you are sensitive to sound.
